Good news! We have at last been advised that our Margate fair, scheduled for Saturday 12th September, can go ahead! This means that, failing unforeseen changes, all our fairs from now on will take place as planned.
Inevitably, however, things will feel a little different, since we will be following the Government’s requirements and any additional guidelines stipulated by our various halls. Here’s a quick rundown of the new procedures we’ll have in place, for the protection of everyone:
We’ll be asking all visitors to wear a covering over their mouth and nose throughout the time they’re in the building where the fair is being held. There will be hand sanitiser for your use on a table near the door and on each dealer’s table, so that you can also use it every time you move between the various dealers’ tables.
We’ll be asking you to sign in to provide a means of contact (phone or email). We will retain this information for 21days and will pass it on only if required to do so by the contact tracing service. (This will also mean that, if you develop symptoms yourself, you will only need to supply our phone number in order for everyone who was at the fair to be contacted.)
We will require all customers to respect social distancing regulations and we’ll be reliant on everyone to do their bit to keep at least 1m apart (2m where possible).
For the time being there will be no public toilets nor refreshments available at either venue
A final word of caution: Things are changing by the day and there is no guarantee that the easing of restrictions will continue as planned. We are therefore advising customers to phone to check that the fair is on, especially if coming a long distance.
